A bouquet of bookmarks

So, I went a little bookmark crazy! Today I have three of them and each stamped with a different flower. I used the stamp sets: 3 Step Daisy, 3 Step Hearts & Roses, and Multi-Step Giant Sunflowers. Don’t they make a lovely bouquet when all together?

Daisy-Rose-Sunflower-Bookmarks

I used vellum to create a center rectangle in the center of the rose bookmark so the type would read better over the roses.

Thanks for stopping by and have an inky day!

Please check out the beautiful card from Lynn McAuley.

Love Multi Step Stamping with Misti

… is just a few of my favorite things!

But before I break into song …  which I could easily start singing because TODAY is a BIG DAY at Kitchen Sink Stamps … but, you will have to keep reading to find out why.

First, it is true, there are few stamping tools I have grown to truly LOVE and would never want to part with … one is my Silhouette electronic cutting machine and the other is the MISTI!

The MISTI makes it so much easier lining up each step when multi-step stamping and a dream when stamping multiples of the same card! I would have to work really hard to get 3 sunflowers precisely in a row without using the MISTI, and no way could I stamp an exact duplicate of the same card as I did here!

Sunny-Smiles

And what could I love more than multi-step stamping with the MISTI… but have a super FUN
BLOG HOP together with My Sweet Petunia (the creator of the MISTI)!

kitchen sink

Everyone who comments on every stop on the hop will be entered to win one of two prizes – winner’s choice of an original or mini MISTI, and a $50 gift certificate from Kitchen Sink Stamps.

Winners will be announced on October 3rd on My Sweet Petunia blog and on my blog here.

Spring Tulips

Happy Spring!

This basket full of Spring Tulips would have taken forever if I had tried to mask all the flowers and leaves.

Instead, I stamped the leaves and stems one over the other (no masking). Then stamped cut out tulip flowers and extra leaves and arranged them on top of the stamped layer of leaves and stems. This made it much easier to “arrange” my bouquet. Adding pop dots to some of the flowers and leaves also added lots of dimension to the card. Below are some photos of how I created this card.

Basket-of-Tulips by Kitchen Sink Stamps

I started this card by stamping Step #1 of the basket. This gave me a base/area to build my tulip bouquet.step-1 With masking tape, I taped off the sides and bottom of the basket. step-2

Stamped overlapping stems and leaves. step-3

Removed the masking tape and filled in empty spaces with more leaves that had been cut out. Once I got all the loose leaves in place, I taped them all down below the top of the basket. Then stamped the brush stroke “shadow” at the bottom of the basket.
step-4

Finally, I added a fully stamped cutout of the basket on top of all the tulips, leaves and stems for a finished bouquet.step-5NOTE: I realized after I finished the card, I should have cut away the “back side” of the basket so the tulips would look more like they are in the basket instead of behind the basket…oh well! LOL!Basket-of-Tulips-CLSUPThanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

New Stamps are in the Kitchen… once again!

How about a little R&R amongst the birch trees or a little fishing by the lake?

Sounds mighty good to me!

This is was my inspiration for 3 of our newest sets. Here is a sample of all 3 together (with a few older favorites)

Peaceful Greetings from Kitchen Sink Stamps

There is very little masking on this card… really!

The house was masked to add the pines. I overstamped the darker pine on top the lighter one – no extra masking. The trunks of the birch trees were masked for the lake… that’s it. Everything else was overstamped. 🙂

And for the 4th new stamp set … I can’t forget about flowers!

Bucket full of Sunflowers from the Kitchen Sink

Happy KSS Monday!

Today’s project was inspired by a friend.  Before celebrating her 50th birthday she made her first jump skydiving (and with her mom too!!!).  I recall her comment after the jump … “that was one for the bucket list!”

This tall narrow notepad is an official “Bucket List”.  😉

Instead of using daisies (sorry, dark humor), I decided to stamp some cheery and sunny sunflowers. 🙂   The masking for the letters, flowers, and leaves were done using the “clear embossing masking technique” (more info about this technique can be found HERE ).  First I stamped the word “bucket”, then the flowers and leaves followed by the drop shadow for “bucket”.  Next time I think I will apply clear imboss directly to the white cardstock (for white letters), then add the drop shadow … followed by filling in the background behind the letters with leaves making the word “bucket” pop more.

When posting my Giant Red Sunflower Tag Card, I realized the original had slipped through the “blogging cracks” and I never shared it … so here it is. 🙂
