New DIGI Printable BKGDS

Three New DIGI Printable BKGDS (for FOILING) are now available!

Instead of showing you all 3 new DIGI printable designs in one post, I thought I would concentrate on one at a time.

Today’s showing is spotlighting the new digi set called Geo Patterns. This set was designed for a quick and dynamic “wallpaper” background behind a stamped image or alone by its self.

The Geo Patterns set contains 4 different designs: Industrial Metal bkgd (great for masculine cards), Bubble Strands, Geometric Net, and Floral with Dots.

My first card, I used the Floral with Dots pattern. After printing the design out on a laser printer, I foiled it using a Minc machine. Next, I added Coral Cabana ink (from Catherine Pooler) to the white areas of the background with a blending brush. Once dried, gently buff with a clean microfiber cloth. Lastly, I added Clear Stars Holographic (HOT FOIL) over the entire background. I just LOVE the clear twinkling stars!

The background wasn’t the only thing I foiled on this card.

I have been trying to figure out how to stamp and foil. After watching all of Nancy’s videos (on Nancy Stamps) and her testing and experimenting with stamping and foiling, I broke down and stamped the portion I wanted to foil and then scanned it into the computer and printed it on a laser printer (TIP: You have to make sure you print with no scaling or the other stamped layers will not match up!)

So I foiled step #3 of the Butterfly and then stamped the other layers. It was the results I was looking for, but will admit, the extra steps are sort of a pain.

Then added previously stamped, SVG cut outs with pop dots to finish the card.

For my next card, I used the Geometric Net pattern to create the under the sea slimline card. I used the same steps as with the above card: after printing the design out on a laser printer, I foiled it using a Minc machine. Next, I added Juniper Mist & Pixie Dust ink (from Catherine Pooler) to the white areas of the background with a blending brush. Once dried, gently buff with a clean microfiber cloth. Lastly, I added Clear Sequins Holographic (HOT FOIL) over the entire background.

Then added previously stamped, SVG cut outs with pop dots to finish the card.

I had hoped that the clear twinkling sequin circles would look like bubbles, and I think it totally worked!
