Christmas Ornament Series – Two 4 week 7

8 Weeks ‘Til Christmas – Holiday Ornament Countdown with Kitchen Sink Stamps continues!

I have TWO ornaments for you this week.  My first ornament features Christmas Poinsettias & Candy Canes and the second is a Festive Snowman.

Stamps to make ornament #1: Poinsettia Multi-Step Clear Stamps, and Things 4 Ducky & Teddy Multi-Step Clear Stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps.

Using Solar White Classic Crest from Neenah and the coordinating KSS SVG cut files,

  • Cut out:
  • Stamp all cutouts following color recipes from the links below.
  • Brush Clear – Wink of Stella to poinsettia flowers.
  • Adhere the large poinsettia (concentrate your adhesive in the center of the blossom leaving to sides without) on the wood disk to determine where it will look best depending on the unique shape of the wood disk. Then slide leave (with adhesive on the back) directly behind the poinsettia blossom.
  • Adhere the additional poinsettias, leaves and candy canes (see note below) with pop dots.

[Note reg. Candy Canes: I have been using black pop dots under most of my cut out images for my past ornaments, but used white for the candy canes. The white doesn’t show as much because of the candy canes being white and red. I adhered the two candy canes together first where I wanted them to cross/overlap each other. Then I added the pop dots (trimmed in stripes) to the back. You can see this a little in the angled photo below.]

Stamps to make ornament #2: Snowmen Multi-Step Clear Stamps, Snowy Cabin Multi Step Clear Stamps, and Holly & Mistletoe Multi-Step Clear Stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps.

Using Solar White Classic Crest from Neenah and the coordinating KSS SVG cut files,

  • Cut out:
    • A small Holly with Berries from Holly & Mistletoe
    • A large Top Hat from Snowmen
    • Stamp all cutouts following color recipes from the links below.
  • Brush Clear – Wink of Stella to the Holly & Berries and the Top Hat’s hatband.
  • Stamp Directly on the wood disk – using a Misty (or another stamp platform).
    • Snowman from Snowmen
      • Step #1: Frost White – 2x’s (Color Box)
      • Step #2: Summer Sky (Memento)
      • Step #3: London Fog – stamp off 1x, repeat (Memento)
      • Face & Buttons: Onyx Black (VersaFine)
      • Nose: Mandarin Orange (Catherine Pooler)
      • Twig Arms – Dark Chocolate (Gina K)
    • Snow Mounds from Snowy Cabin
      • Step #1: Frost White – 2x’s (Color Box)
      • Step #2: VersaMark and Kaleidoscope embossing powder
    • Winter Tree from Snowy Cabin
      • First stamping: Espresso Truffle (Memento)
      • Stamp again: Warm Cocoa (Gina K)
      • Brush Clear Wink of Stella to branches
  • Add Holly & Berries and Top Hat with pop dots.

[Note reg. Snowman’s Top Hat: As you can see from the photo below, I had originally stamped the top hat directly over the snowman on the wood disk. Normally this would work on paper, but due to the many layers of white ink to build up the snowman, I did not like the end results. So, I stamped another top hat and covered it over by adding it on top with pop dots. You can only see it when looking close at an angle. It reminds me of the Holly Hobbie layered paper crafts from my childhood. Anyway, a good fix for a mistake. :)]

On the 3rd Day of Christmas …

… my True Love gave to me,

Three French Hens.

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday! I hope everyone’s Christmas was Merry and Bright…. and this is just the beginning of the twelve days of Christmas. Which I am thankful for, because I wasn’t completely ready for Christmas this year as I would have like.  This year my Christmas cards to send out have turn into New Years’ cards … but better late than never. And as a dear friend says …. “All in a day”. 😉

You might wonder what am I leading up too? I want to share about a really great challenge going on from The Daily Dare. Deb and Bev had this fabulous idea to get a jump on next year’s Christmas Cards by Celebrating the Twelve Days of Christmas with a new Christmas card Challenge & a New Gift to give each day.

What does this have to do with me? Besides that this challenge is perfect for me to get a jump on my Holiday Cards for next year, as well as a jump on one of my New Year’s resolutions, (to make one Christmas Card a week)…. I am today’s Hostess for the Third Day of Christmas! Yahoo! 🙂

The gift of Three French Hens, represent The Three Theological Virtues:

1) Faith, 2) Hope, and 3) Love (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Here is my Challenge: Create a Christmas card that includes the word/s Faith, Hope and/or Love as the sentiment or incorporated in the sentiment.

The majority of the sentiment came together from two sets, Words of Comfort & Joy and 3 Step Poinsettia. Faith, Hope and Love came from the set, Vintage Words . I must add, I don’t know how the word “Faith” has escaped from being in a KSS’ stamp set! You can bet that sentiment has moved to the top of my “To Do” list! But, where there is a will, there is a way and I was able to stamp the word “Faith” by masking out letters from other words in the set. I used: FA from family, the I from live and TH from thoughts.

As for the gift for the winner to today’s challenge, head on over to The Daily Dare to find out more. To play along, upload your card to the Splitcoast Gallery with the keyword: DD12days03.

The deadline for all submissions is midnight on Sunday, January 9th.  Winners will be chosen announced over at The Daily Dare on Monday, January 10.

The full details for The Daily Dare’s –  12 Days of Christmas Challenge, can be found: HERE

Please remember to check what the rest of the KS Crew has cooked up for you today.
