More Color Recipes from Kitchen Sink Stamps

ALL Color Recipes are now available for KSS Multi-Step layered stamps

It is official! I have finally caught up and you can now find a color recipe for every KSS Multi-Step stamp set!  My next color assignment … update the ink brands to KSS’ Ink Color Substitution List.

I have mentioned in the past, I LOVE INK! Some can’t pass by a shoe shop without stopping… others may find bags & purses are their weakness … for myself, INK is my kryptonite! With this said, I have two more ink brands that will be added to my KSS’ Ink Color Substitution List: GinaKCatherine Pooler inks.

Brithday-Flowers

Stamps to make this card: Bitty Tulip Bouquet Multi-Step Clear Stamps, Carnations Multi-Step Clear Stamps, Giant Sunflowers Multi-Step Clear StampsPansy Multi-Step Clear StampsSpring Daffodils Multi-Step Clear Stamps and Make a Big Statement from Kitchen Sink Stamps.

I had the opportunity to work with GinaK’s inks while I was at JunkieFest in July, and I really like the way Gina’s dye inks leave a crisp impression while leaving very little ink behind to clean off the stamp after stamping. I believe GinaK has 40 different ink colors in a vast range of shades (darker) and tints (lighter) in color and neutral tones… perfect for multi-step stamping!

It was a long time KSS reader who suggested that I try Catherine Pooler’s inks (Thanks Billie Dee!), which are very different from the dye inks that most stampers are used to using. I liked stamping with CP’s inks and in my opinion, is more like a hybrid ink with qualities of both dye ink and pigment ink. They are like dye inks in that they are translucent (can see through the ink while it is on a clear stamp) and you can mix colors by layered stamping (stamp yellow on top of blue and it turns green). It resembles a pigment ink by its impressive solid ink coverage after a single stamping (no blotchiness or spots) but can leave an “ink halo” if using too much downward pressure when stamping. A light touch when inking up a stamp works best when stamping with these inks (a little goes a long way).

What is your favorite ink brand to stamp with or new ink brand you recently discovered?

Grizzly Good… Peek #2

KSS Peek #2 …

Monday, Oct. 21st, five new stamp sets will be available in the KSS store.S-P-2I needed a masculine birthday card for my 15-year-old (YIKES! I can’t believe 15!).

I knew Multi-Step Grizzly Wishes Clear Stamps, would be perfect for a fun card but not … too juvenile (YKWIM).

I am so thrilled that I could cut Mr. Grizzly out in a few minutes.  (Die-Cut digital download now available online). To stamp him with party hat and noise maker … with no masking! Yahoo! Being able to shift his party hat around to exactly the right spot … Double Yahoo! 🙂

I must share that I did something a little different when it came to designing the new stamp for this release. I asked the KSCrew, “What stamp set have YOU always wanted from KSS?”. Boy-O-Boy was I inspired by their input! Since I can hardly wait for you all you to see, I’ll have a new peak to show every day until Monday, June 10th! Here is your first peak. 🙂

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday & the third day of Kitchen Sink Stamps & PaperTemptress’s St. Patty’s Treasure Hunt Give Away!

Lucky Birthday Card

I showed you the first piece of the puzzle on Sat. … and while I don’t have a new piece of the puzzle for you today, I have a new card that is bound to send tons of Luck!

Stamps for this lucky birthday card: Multi-Step Shamrocks & Clover Clear Stamps, Multi-Step Luck Horseshoe Clear Stamps, Multi-Step Honey Bunny Clear Stamps, Simple Sentiments Clear Stamps, Ready 4 Any Holiday Clear Stamps, Big & Bold Swashes Clear Stamps and 1/2 Pint Alphabet Buddy Clear Stamps.

I made the “ribbon button” using a dome sticker over my stamped 4. The ribbon has a running stitch on the inside and pulled to create the gathering. Then adhering the ribbon to the back of the dome sticker and attaching the whole thing to the card with a pop-up dot. Easy-peasy!

Please check the rest of the KS Crew for more Lucky Shamrock & St. Patty’s Green paper inspiration… and one of them just might have another piece of the puzzle for you! Good Luck! Happy Hunting & Stamping!
