A Beary St. Patrick one minute …

… now a Beary St. Nick!    He’s a bear for many holidays!

Please don’t let the theme of this card imply that I have my seasons mixed up. I am attempting to get a jump start on my Christmas card making. I figure if I start now, I might be ready and have enough come late November … instead of my usual mailing my holiday cards AFTER Christmas! LOL!

Beary-Christmas by Kitchen Sink StampsTo help get my mission started, I took inspiration from SCS’s Fan Club Christmas Challenge – SCSCCMAR16 .
That is 1 Christmas card down … ??? to go!  – LOL!

Thanks for stopping by & have a inky day!

Card #1 uses the 2 of the new sets, Multi-Step Rubber Ducky and Multi-Step Things 4 Ducky & Teddy for a fun Christmas card. Multi-Step Ducky was inspired by KSS Forum Member, SuperJen. She was the winner of last June’s forum Giveaway Game and her stamp suggestion was a Rubber Ducky set. I am so glad she did because I have been having so much fun stamping him (or her). 😉

Holly & Mistletoe color recipe & Christmas Cards in under 10 mins.

Happy Color Recipe Day!

With the Holidays half a year away and not a single holiday card made to date … I knew Lynn’s 10 min. challenge – #81 (10MC81) “to add scoring to enhance a clean and simple card”, was the perfect challenge to get me started on my Christmas cards! Score lines always add an elegant touch. So, I pulled an oldie but goodie stamp set and used 3 Step Holly & Mistletoe for Lynn’s challenge.

Color Recipes for 3 Step Holly & Mistletoe can be found HERE and has been updated using some of the new Memento colors too.

I think the extra score lines really adds an elegant touch …. and with my ScorePal, it took only a few seconds!

Thanks Lynn for the fabulous challenge!

What I also love about this challenge, by using approx. 1-1/2″x1-1/2″ sq. for my stamped image (the holly card), I stamped 9 small holly leaves & berries (I’m sure I could have stamped more if I had cut 2″ strips and then stamped) all on a single sheet of paper. Then used a 1-3/8″ square paper punch to cut out the holly. In less than 10 mins, I had 9 images ready to back with color cardstock, score and assemble for 9 (quick) Christmas Cards. (LOVE IT!)

I found today’s Holiday ornament hiding in my computer files and realized I forgot to share it with you. This was a fun and pretty quick project. The part that took the longest was letting the glue and glitter dry. So, first I punched two holes, one at each end of a flat, wooden horseshoe with my Big Bite (I used the biggest hole punch). Next, coat both sides of the horseshoe with glue. Then buried the wet glue coated horseshoe in a shallow bowl of glitter by covering more glitter on top. Turning the horseshoe and patting the glitter down until both sides had a solid coverage of glitter. I used a bamboo skewer to poke out the excess glitter from the punched holes and left out on wax paper to dry. When the glitter was completely dry I added the twine, knotting at both ends. Finally, finishing the ornament by gluing in place a red die cut star to frame a stamped cowboy hat star. Tucked the stamped holly leaves under the stars and added red rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by!

Please check out what the KS Crew has cooked up today (yesterday) 😉 for your viewing pleasure. Have a great day and get your fingers inky!
