Happy 5th Anniversary to CTD

…and Happy KSS Monday!

If you’re a fan of Color Throwdown Challenge like I am … (and you have heard the big news yet) … they are celebrating their 5th year with CTD #250! (WOW! 5 Year!)

They are celebrating their anniversary big by giving loads of “goodies” away to those who enter their challenge … but hurry, the deadline is Tuesday, July 16th (that’s tomorrow!) – midnight Eastern Time.

Here are the colors for CTD250. To find all the details about entering and the prizes go HERE.

I had joined in on the fun and here is my card.

I did not have the SU!’s current colors of Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake or Melon Mambo. I substituted them with their retired colors that come pretty close: Taken with Teal, Kraft and Regale Rose. I am not sure if I am going to use this card for a birthday card or as a thank you card, so I left the sentiment off.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hope you have a wonderful (and inky) week!

Check out what the KS Crew has cooked up for you today and CTD #250!

Crew-Challenge-logo-sqKS Crew Challenge #16 with Guest Hostess, Emilia.

A new month means a new challenge in the Kitchen… and today we have a Guest Hostess!

I am thrilled that Emilia had time during her busy summer travels to stop in the Kitchen for a visit. This is the second time she has been a Guest Hostess for KSS and it is always a pleasure to see what kind of challenge Emilia has cooked up for us!

Emilia’s challenge for us is: DECORATE YOUR CARD CORNERS
You can use any embellishment, below you find a list of some embellishments you can use but feel free to use any product that you think might look good on your card corners:

Bright-tropical-thanks-half pearls
– rhinestones
– dew drops
– peel-off stickers
– punched flowers
– stamped images
– ribbon
– glitter
– photo corners
– brads
– eyelets

Here is today’s card, I pleated the twill ribbon behind the stamped Hibiscus flower, the same way I pleated the organza ribbon on my Thankful card.

I have written a quick “How I Did It” tutorial, which can be found HERE.

A Heartflet Thanks to July’s Guest Designer!

Is it just me, or is one minute really only 30 secs. long???

How quickly July came and went! The summer is just whizzing by…

…But, July’s Kitchen Sink Guest Designer, Leslie Miller, sure had a way of making me stop and smell the roses!!! I sure learn a lot from Leslie’s artistry and her coloring techniques and am so grateful to her for generously sharing her talents with all of us through her meticulous tutorials!

My deepest thanks, Leslie, your talents are always welcomed to join us in the Kitchen… any time when you are not in your garden oasis! 😀

Now, I must share just a few of Leslie’s masterworks for KSS!

To find more of Leslie’s creative work, amazing garden photography and her Monday coloring techniques, visit her on her blog, Running with Scissors…

I would like to share just a few of Lynn’s beautiful cards that she created this month (which can be seen along with other lovely cards from Lynn in her gallery on SCS and in the Kitchen Sink Stamps Gallery on Pinterest).
