Tip for Quick Masking

I have a quick masking tip/trick for you today.

When you are not up for cutting out lots of masks from masking paper (especially small ones)… try using clear embossing powder instead.

Quick Masking with Embossing Powder/Resist Technique.

added note: (dye inks yield the best results – pigment inks can still leave a stain of color)

Photo (A) – Two flowers stamped & dry. Next, embossed with fine detail clear EP (using step #1 stamp for full coverage and VersaMark). Tip: It is also a good time to do any embellishing with glitter pens before embossing.

Photo (B) – The red arrows show pink ink on top of the previously embossed flowers (the yellow and orange flowers) and the clear emboss acts as a mask for the pink flower.

Photo (C) – Before embossing the pink flower (same as done in photo A), clean unwanted ink off with Q-Tip. Tip: wipe the ink off towards the image you just stamped.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hope you have a Happy (and inky) week!

Please remember to check out what the KS Crew has cooked up for you using today’s new stamps!

Sea Shell Poster inspiration fro KSS Monday

Good Day! I hope everyone had a wonderful Summer weekend…. maybe a chance to get away to the beach, lake or relax by a pool…. maybe even a run through the sprinklers ;)?

Last Monday, I mentioned I was off to the beach for our family “day after the 4th of July” tradition. Even though it was a foggy day at the beach, we still had a wonderful time and came home taking half of the beach with us in our hair, towels, toys, etc. LOL!

This is where I got my inspiration from for today’s card and from this poster image from AllPosters.com. Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great day! 🙂

Please check out what the rest of the KS Crew has cooked up for Kitchen Sink Stamps Monday. Happy Stamping!

A quick trip and another CAS card

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

I was thrilled to spend this weekend with my dear friend Traci on a short adventure trip to the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo that was being held in Tucson, AZ this past Saturday…. and the best part about our adventure, we got to spend the day (the whole day) with KS Crew Member… Connie, whose hometown is Tucson! We had a ball spending the day with Connie… meeting her lovely family, fellow stamping friend, Sabrina, and seeing Tucson, which is surrounded by mountains …and of course, a few stops at Cracker Barrel…. (love their pancakes!) Thank you, Connie, for being a fabulous tour guide! 🙂

The crazy thing about this quick adventure… how is it possible to spend the entire day with someone and not take one single photo??!!! Not a single one! Just having too good of a time to stop and think about it, I guess! 😉

But, before I left on my adventure, I had a Thank You card I wanted to send a dear friend who has a green thumb with Plumerias. She has shared several cuttings with me from her gorgeous plants. I sure hope I can get them to take root. I just love their wonderful fragrance….so, I thought it was fitting to stamp this card for her using the set, 3 Step Aloha!
Thanks for stopping by and wishing you a Happy Monday!
Don’t forget to check out what the KS Crew has cooked up for you too! 🙂
