WOW!!! Day 4 with 4 More Days to go!!!
DELICIOUS!!!!!! I am having so much fun reading your comments! I think I have gained about 10 pounds just reading about all the scrumptious cakes that are every ones favorite!!! It is lovely and touching how many wonderful memories we have that are linked to our favorite flowers and to our favorite cake! Our hearts & senses don’t ever forget the memories!!! 😀
…and I have learned some new things about cakes too! 😀 Did you know …?
• when it is YOUR birthday cake… you get to eat it the next morning for breakfast (how fun is that!)
• there is a cake called “Humming Bird” cake …. it is so tasty loaded with tropical goodies …. that you will want to hmmmmm when eating it! — YUMMY! 😀
• from what I can tell, for the majority …. chocolate is usually involved! LOL!!!! 😀

The Final Question ….
Q: What is your favorite thing to do on your birthday?
Please give your answer by leaving a comment to this post.
Thank you for celebrating with me & Kitchen Sink Stamps!!!
Good luck everyone!!! 😀
(looks like I’m first) My favorite thing to do on my birthday would be to go out for dinner with my DH and kids – then come home and hang in my studio for the rest of the evening. Anytime I can stamp without any interruptions if great!!!

Wow, can this sneak peek actually be my favorite flower, the pansy? I hope so!! Birthdays are not really big around our house now that the kids are grown and gone and have kids of their own. So my favorite thing to do is not to have to cook dinner and go out to eat!! I can’t remember the last time I had a birthday cake. I still miss my Nana’s angel food cakes. Thanks. This is an awesome giveaway.

For my birthday I like to celebrate with my husband and son. My DH usually makes my favorite dish for dinner. Just having my family around me is celebration enough.

I always get my birthday off & pretty much let the rest of the USA off, too. 4th of July. I really like to take it easy and just chill out while everyone out there is fighting traffic & bugs! I’ll guess we are getting some pansies to play with & ribbon, sparkles? Not sure about the second peek, but I know it will be something fun.

My husband used to take me out to eat somewhere *nice* but I prefer to go out with my kids too now – anywhere – just so I don’t have to cook that day! Since my birthday is in February, it sometimes falls on President’s Day and the kids are off school for extra celebration!

Well, I’m a sucker for nice flowers and this pansy is not exception! Are you getting Stickles, or glitter in too? Ok, these peeks have been incredible! I can’t wait to see the rest of the stamps that go with them!
My favorite thing to do is have a party…here is why –
My birthday is on January 1st, so the upside of that is I have never had to work on my day. The downside unfortunately, is that people are usually too hungover to show up for any birthday party that may be planned on that day. So I didn’t have parties.
Then in my mid-thirties God blessed me with two wonderful friends and their families. They always celebrate my birthday with us. Rain or shine, my house is full of people – my loved ones.
I never used to want to have a party because I knew no one would show up, but now it is my favorite thing to do!
Blessings,
Cyndi

My birthday is 4 days before Christmas. My family has always kept Christmas and Birthday seperated so that has been nice, but what I really like to do now is…..my sister and I live 300 miles away from each other. For the last 5 years we (she and her husband and me and mine) have met at a half way point for both of us usually on my birthday. We exchange Christmas gifts and eat brunch and visit for a few hours. Then it’s back to our own families but we go home with the warm feeling of having spent my birthday AND Christmas together…just like when we were kids!
This way I get to have my cake and eat it too! Thanks for letting me share my favorite birthday thing to do…I LOVE kitchen sink stamps and of course I hope I win….I have a feeling if I don’t though these great new stamps will find their way into my stampin spot…Christmas is just around the corner and so is my birthday!! Funny how that’s changed since finding out I was diabetic. It used to be icecream and cake and I still like blowing out my one big candle (too many years old for them all) and having a sliver of strawberry cake and a 1/2 scoop of ice cream, BUT it’s not about food anymore. It’s about appreciating the fact that I have this birthday to be here with my family and friends and the love of my life.

Now I am much older and have a wonderful hubby and 2 grown boys…on birthdays it is the b’day person’s choice of place to eat and I always choose Sakura’s Japanese Steak House. The last few years I have gone to a local overnight crop and leave to meet them for dinner and then go back and scrapbook the night away. That part will change since the store just closed.

Then go to work where I often have a surprise waiting. Then it’s out to lunch…again a light meal ’cause there’s more coming. Finish up at the office then home where I open gifts. Out to dinner and home for dessert. You know it’s not a celebration without dessert, right? I love my birthday. Thanks for the sneak peeks, Maria. I hope that this is a pansy. Perfect question & perfect timing. Tonight my family will be getting together to celebrate my birthday (which is on the 23rd, Tuesday). The 23rd being a week/work day makes it hard for everyone to get together for most celebrations. So the surprise announcement was made this morning that they will be taking me out to my favorite restaurant for dinner. Just being with my family is the greatest joy on my birthday and everyday. And where we have dinner is irrelevant….be it McDonald’s or Outback. My greatest accomplishments in life is having my great husband and wonderful children.

In our family it doesn’t really matter what your favorite thing to do on your birthday is – we always do the same thing. The whole family gets together and we have cake and visit. My oldest dd (who just turned 11 on Friday) was born on my 28th birthday and ever since then the day is all about her birthday and mine (and my twin sister’s) is forgotten. That is OK though because I don’t need reminders of how old I am getting.
So I guess my answer to what my favorite thing to do on my birthday is to celebrate my dd’s birthday.

We usually go out to dinner on my birthday, so I guess that would be my favorite thing to do. BTW…my DH’s birthday is the same day as Kitchen Sink’s birthday…but he is MUCH older!! 🙂

I have always loved being with my two kids for my birthday. They make breakfast for me if it falls on a weekend; if not, they wake me up with their cards and hugs. Then they take me out for dinner in a nice restaurant in the evening.

My favorite thing to do on my birthday is go out to dinner to a really nice restaurant (or even McDonalds!) just as long as I don’t have to cook! Although I’d kill him if he took me to McD’s!!! Hope I win!

Eating out is nice… but my most favorite would be having as much of my family as is possible with me to celebrate.

My favorite thing to do on my Birthday truly is to be my Family and friends. My kids always make me special cards with my stamp things, and cool interesting gifts with my craft stuff. And it makes me smile, and for me that is worth turning another year older 🙂

I love being with my family. Not doing anything special. Since I lost my oldest son in April, it is even more important for me to be with my other son. They are grown men with families of theri own, and live in another state. It is always very special when they can get home for my September birthday.

My favorite thing to do on my birthday is to bake my own cake with my daughter. She’s eight and we are so blessed to have her. We adopted after 17 years of trying so she is very special to us. She and I make a horrible mess with flour and matching aprons! You should see the cake! LOL

My favorite thing to do on my birthday is spend time with my husband, daughter, son, and mom, eat the wacky cake that Mom made for me (reference previous question!), and go to a Carolina Hurricanes hockey game (either on my actual B-day if there is a game, or the closest home game to it!)

Looks like a great release! My favorite thing to do on my birthday is go out for a nice dinner. Then there’s no dishes to wash!

On my birthday, I like to spend time with my husband and daughter and also squeeze in some time to stamp.

On my birthday, the guys make me a special breakfast – that they prepare from scratch. They get up extra early and make the muffins the night before. It’s lots of fun, and a family tradition for everyone on their birthday.
