Happy KSS Monday… and AUGUST 1st!

Today I would like to share another project from Ohio’s Workshop this last June… a seed packet postcard. Yes, I did mail mine to my KSS traveling buddy, Traci, who this time couldn’t join in on the stamping fun in Ohio.

I think everyone enjoyed the project, which gave them lots of masking experience.

The drop shadow on the banner was created with a mask and then colored in copic markers (I don’t have the talent to draw in a drop shadow freehand like many of those at the workshop.

… but with exciting news!!!

The past 5 months has kept me feeling a lot like this guy in the photo. Anyone remember this gentleman’s act from the Ed Sullivan Show (am I dating myself? LOL)???  I do and as a kid, I was mesmerised watching the plates spin as the performer would add another plate and another without any of them dropping.  For anyone who isn’t familiar with this entertaining act… as each spinning plate would begin to slow down and start to wobble … the performer would run over,  just before the plate fell and get the plate spinning again. He would run from plate to plate, saving each just before falling and shattering on the floor.  Back then… it was a real nail bitter! OK… so I digress.

While the above describes what life has been like over past 5 months, you might be asking “why” or “WHAT” has kept me on the run in a “nail biting” state. Our happy little 1922 – California Bungalow (which seemed so BIG when we first moved in with only an 18 month old in arm), has begun to pop at the seams due to our growing family, growing boys and growing business!  The GOOD NEWS …we found the perfect place for our family AND business to stay together and we are moving! Kitchen Sink Stamps, Inc. will continue to be a “cottage industry”.

As for the WBPS …it will be hiatus for the summer as we move and get settled.

I have a fun project to share with you today … a St. Patrick’s Day Coaster POSTCARD!

Stamping on coasters, whether round or square, sure can be fun! SO, when a dear friend of mine showed me a RECTANGLE coaster… (the perfect size for a postcard) … I started to drool and knew I had to have some. How fun would that be to stamp a POSTCARD!!!!

So here is my take on a St. Patty’s postcard … it is going to another dear friend with the last name of Dooley… thought it would be most appropriate!  AND for some St. Patty’s fun….. the first reader to guess HOW MANY stamp sets I used to create this post card… will win a set of 6 post cards of their own. Leave a post here on this post to enter. Deadline is March 16th, midnight PST. I will announce the winner on March 17th!

NOTE: the stamp used for the address lines on the back of the postcard will not count since it is from a retired KSS set.

I have been so inspired and thankful with all the KSCrew has been cooked up for you in the KSS Forum & KSS Gallery with their beautiful cards, awesome tips and inspiring challenges! They sure are a wonderful (as well as talented) group of ladies!!!!

I sure have missed stamping these past few weeks!!!  But, my MIA has not been in vain… I have been cooking up some exciting additions & changes that I hope to share with you all very soon!

In the meantime … I CAN share that KSS will be packing up and hitting the road for another workshop this June.

KSS is joining up with Stamping Around and going to OHIO – June 17 & 18, 2011!

I am so excited to meet up with Julie Masse, (one of the talented KS Crew) on one of her Stamping Around weekend workshops!  When she asked me “so many months ago” if I would be interested in going to Ohio… (where Tammy Hershberger, a KSCrew Alumni, lives) and host a full day of KSS classes + a class for SA on Sat., I did not have to think twice to answer… YES! Actually, come to thinking of it…. I may have been so excited about putting 1 + 1 together ….ie:  Julie + Tammy, @ Tammy’s well know place of work… Toyrifix,   I think…. I might have invited myself  to join in the stamping fun before Julie could even finish her sentence … I don’t remember! LOL!  But… that doesn’t really matter …I am going! YaHOOOO!
