I am slowly coming out of my sugar induced coma due to all the celebrating with several graduations and birthdays that took place this past week! whew!
Today’s card was inspired… and cased from a by a card by KSS Crew Designer Lisa, you can see HERE, which was from a challenge to case an other card you had done. So, the ripples of casing just keeping going – LOL! Lisa’s card was a money holder, I changed my card to be a slide out tag.

For more KSS Monday inspiration, please check in to see what the KSS has served up to inspire you.

A card from left overs
When I made this Christmas card back in Sept. [ color inspired by Color Throwdown weekly color challenge #8 & SCS card sketch SC190].
I STILL had the left over cut card stock sitting on my craft table. (YIKES!) So, instead putting the pieces away, I gave myself the challenge to turn the left overs into a new card.
This is the card I came up with. Thanks for looking!

Red velvet ribbon from Michael’s. Rhinestone Singles – Hibiscus from me & my Big ideas. Sakura Clear Star pen was used on one side of the diamonds.
3 Step Dancin’ with Dee … Stamp Simply Style!
Yesterday, Sharon at No Time to Stamp?, spotlighted Kitchen Sink Crew Member, Dee Jackson!
WooHoo Dee!!!!! You are Dancin’ in the spotlight!
Why is Dee “Dancin’?” … because Sharon chose to spotlight Dee’s amazing multiple step stamping work [see Dee's work here]… or better know in the Kitchen as… 3 Step Stamping!
Dee is a flower lady … and she knows how to turn paper and ink into a garden!!!
So, with spotlighting Dee’s 3 step stamping, Sharon’s Stamp Simply Challenge #51 this week is focused on 2 and 3 step stamping. You can go HERE to find how to play along and to see some amazing multiple step stamped cards… including an elegant Mistletoe card from Sharon using 3 Step Holly & Mistletoe and from another Kitchen Sink Crew Member – Tammy who knows how to make 3 Step Butterflies all a flutter!
Another bit a fun news…. this is a big week for Sharon… she is also celebrating her 1 year anniversary in blogland and it is PARTY TIME!!!!! YaHOO!!!! Lots of Blog Candy to be had … there is even a set of Kitchen Sink 3 Step Stamps to be given away! But you will have to go on over to Sharon’s to find out more!
So of course, I wanted to play a long and Dance with Dee!
But before I show my card, I have to share my opinion about Dee and her amazing way with ribbon and bows! Honestly, I think Dee is “bow whisper”!!! LOL! So in honor of Dee’s Big Beautiful Bows… I did want to try a little something “special” on this card [... I WISH I could do a bow like Dee.... I just don't have the touch - LOL!] …. so, I used a sailor knot with this yummy 1″ wide double face satin ribbon.
[NOTE: update 5/10/12 - the link for the info on how to make a sailor knot has moved... and on their new site, the knot is called a Square Knot (Reef Knot) or The Reef (Square) Knot .... which ever way it is called, both links have been updated and show animated directions for tying the knot.

Stars & Stripes Forever!!!!

So, my husband and I have really been enjoying watching the HBO series, John Adams on DVD. It is really putting me in the patriotic spirit!!!!
I just love learning more about American History … the information I should have learned in school, but did not! I guess it doesn’t matter when you learn something… just so you are still learning something new!
So, with getting ready to celebrate the 232nd anniversary of declaring our Independance as Americans … to help, a Kitchen Crew Design Member, Tammy came up with an amazing project for July, that is sure to make a centerpiece, leave a spectacular impression! I am excitied to try this project myself! Thanks Tammy for doing such a bang up job with your project!!!!
You can see Tammy’s tutorial Here.

Here is a sample of a card from one of the new sets.
My son just had his last play-off game with AYSO soccer. Their team color was orange and they called themselves, “The Torpedoes “. They had a tie score with the top team in their division. In the last 5 mins. of overtime, the other team made a goal! The Torpedoes all played SO well… we are all so proud of each boy! So, the boys are now ready to move on and have their end of the season party! So, I would like to share this quick and simple card I made.
Materials used:
Stamps: Playful Alphabet Buddy and Background & Borders – both sets from Kitchen Sink Stamps.
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Kraft and Pumpkin Pie from Stampin’ Up! The letters are stamped on a caramel color card stock from Michael’s.
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel and Pumpkin Pie – Classic Ink all from Stampin’ Up! Some letters were double stamped to give a darker tone…ex: with both “c’s”, I used Creamy Caramel. The first “c” I stamped 2x’s to look a little darker than the 2nd “c”. I love that you can do that with clear stamps!
Embellishments: Weird not to use glitter or ribbon …. but it is for 10 & under Boys! The finishing touch is a soccer brad… and I am sorry to say… I can’t remember where (or when) I picked it up … just hoping to use it one day!
A card sure to bring Christmas Joy… and Kitchen Sink Stamps as Blog Candy too
This card makes me feel so happy… like when I was a child “happy”… full of Christmas Joy! The kind of Christmas Joy that’s fun, carefree and full of color! Julie Masse, a Kitchen Sink Crew Member, nailed it with this card using 3 sets from KSS: Playful Alphabet , Never a Loss 4 Words and Backgrounds & Borders! Her card is from Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge #26. A very versatile card sketch too!
I suggest you go and give Julie a visit on her blog, Stampin with Julie, and gaze at her other wonderful projects! For the materials Julie used for Christmas Joy (go here).
Oh! Did I forget to mention… on Monday, Julie is picking a winner for some blog candy! She’s giving away a set of Kitchen Sink Stamps as the prize! You will just have to go here and see for yourself which KS set she has picked. Just leave a comment for her to be able to play. Sounds like fun!
