Happy Thanksgiving wishes from the Kitchen!

triangle-treat-boxI came across this fabulous triangle box on SEI lifestyle blog (which includes a template too) and I knew it would make the perfect place card for my family’s Thanksgiving table. SEI calls this box a “Piece of Cake Box”, and it really is a piece of cake to make! :D I was able to make 8 in no time! Then I stuff each with 3 Lindt Lindor Truffles (yum!…like there isn’t enough to eat! LOL!!!!). :D

Kitchen Sink’s Project of the Month for October

turkey-soapHey!

Where did October go???!!!!

I do feel a bit like the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland … I am SOOOO late!!! Hopefully you all won’t hold my tardiness against me? :D

October’s Project of the Month has been simmering in my head for the whole month … and here it is!

SOAP!!!! Yup! Stamping and Glycerin Soap!

Soap making with glycerin soap is fun and easy … easy enough to even do with kids … provided there is adult supervision. :D But, I started to wonder, how could I make soap and bring stamping into the mix?

My answer …. laminate the stamped card stock! :D

How nice to make your own guest soap or bring some home made soap as a hostess gift during this Holiday Season? :D

So I pulled out my soap making supplies along with my stamps, 3 Step Turkey Trot and 3 Step Autumn Squirrel and got to work making soaps I can use during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Materials:

Paper: Shimmery White – SU!

Inks: Step #1 So Saffron, Step #2 Creamy Carmel, Step #3 Chocolate Chip.

Here is a tutorial on how I made these soaps. If you give it a try, please let me know how your soaps turned out. I would love to see what you come up with. Thanks for looking! :D

But when I stop (that is funny in its self!) to think of my loved ones, friends and all the things which I am thankful for…. it has been a very full year! :D

I, along with my family wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Getting hungry in the Kitchen

It’s time to show off some of the wonderful cards and projects that are coming out of the Kitchen Sink! It is so exciting to watch what the Kitchen Crew has been cookijan-flower.jpgng up, I just have to share! :)

Today the Kitchen Crew spotlight is on …

Jan Tinklenberg!

She is really getting me in the mood for some turkey and pumpkin pie (oh my!). Just look at these fantastic Thanksgiving cards she has whipped out!

To see more of what Jan has been up to, head on over to her blog, Stamps, Paper, Scissors … but be forewarned, it’s not my fault if she makes you hungry (especially if she’s talking about chocolate!). To quickly find the materials she used for her cards below, you can find her turkey card here and her pumpkin card here. Both using the KSS set: 3 Step Turkey Trot.
