Happy Memorial Day from the Kitchen!

Happy Memorial Day!
Animation from millan.net

Today I have another card using one of the new wedding stamp sets. This time it is from the set, Multi Step Wedding Rings. The Color Recipe for Multi Step Wedding Rings can be downloaded by clicking HERE.

For the dry embossing, I used the embossing folder only on the ends of the card stock. This left a band of smooth paper… which also turned out to be a great spot for the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today …. and I hope you have a beautiful day!

Please check out what the KS Crew has cooked up for today too!

Project of the Month your feet will flip over!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!
I have a fun project for you today, in fact, today’s project is the
Project of the Month for May.

Daisy Flip Flops

We have all seen the cute & fun flip flops with silk flowers attached… (which can also be fun to make) … but what about stamping on Fun Foam to make your own flowers to decorate your flip flops? That is exactly what I did here! :)
h
I don’t know if you have had a chance to stamp on Fun Foam … it is super easy to stamp on, holds color nicely … and FUN! I found these Flip Flops and Fun Foam at Michael’s but I am sure they can be found at any local craft store.
k
First a mention about ink … you knew I would have to say something about ink, didn’t you? :) I would suggest using pigment ink, which is what I used for these flip flops. Dye inks bleed together and the stamp image detail did not remain sharp.
k
The big secret to stamping on Fun Foam…. when your stamped images are dry, spray with a fixative. I used a fixative with a matte finish from Krylon. I like the matte finish because it does not change the original look of your stamped image. By “fixing” your stamped image with fixative, the ink will no longer smear and the stamped Fun Foam becomes water proof … a good thing if your plan on wearing your flip flops to the beach or by the pool. :)

I hope all the Mom’s and their families, had a wonderful day yesterday! Mother’s Day was a lovely, relaxing day in our kitchen. Our family (both sides) had a yummy brunch all together and my husband did the cooking! Oh, how I LOVE that! This clean & simple was made my wonderful MIL!

New KS Crew Challenge & the BPS

My apologies … I am a tad late [ok, very late :( ] with showing you my card for KSS Monday … which is also for a new KSCrew Challenge! PLUS, it is time for another… Kitchen Sink Stamps’ Wednesday Blue Plate Special! blue-plate1

This month, our hostess Julie, has designed this fun and versatile card sketch for KS Crew Challenge – #25.

I just love Julie’s sketch… so much… I had trouble deciding which stamp set to use! LOL! As I was thinking about which stamps to use with Julie’s sketch… I was watching a blue bird out the window of my office/craft room. This reminded me of an email I received a while back from Erin Smetak. Erin wondered if the Cardinal from Multi Step Winter Cardinal, could look like a Blue Jay? Besides thinking she had a brilliant suggestion… (I love a color challenge), I thought a Blue Bird/Cardinal would look great with Julie’s sketch. So, here is my version of a Cardinal pretending to be a Blue Jay! ;) …. I believe a Blue Jay’s chest should be white and their markings are a bit different…. but, I think it works …. what do you think? Thanks for the fabulous sketch Julie …. and the wonderful suggestion Erin! :)

I hope you checked out what the rest of the KS Crew had cooked up for you on Monday … but just in case … you can still see their inspiring KSS designs for KS Crew Challenge #25!
