A Sneak Peek to KSS’s Holiday Release

Yes… it is true, MORE stamps coming from the Kitchen! Six to be exact! Here is a little taste as to what’s coming for the Holidays. Available on Nov. 3rd. :)

Sneak-peek

I want to also mention that this sneak peek features some cool paper, Olive Ruche, which I recently discovered from Paper Temptress. It has almost a crepe paper streamer look to it and has a nice subtle texture. Great for adding interest where a solid background of color is being used.

I also understand that Paper Temptress is having a very cool Treasure Hunt to celebrate their Anniversary. The PT Treasure Hunt Give Away is still going on with winner/s being announce on Nov. 4th!

Serene in Green Thank you!

Happy Monday, Kitchen Sink Readers!

I just love how green is so calming and tranquil… and that is what I was trying to achieve with today’s card. For the background, I used the Depth of Field Technique from Technique Junkie (found in their June/July ’09 newsletter). I love the look of this technique and it is a quick way to create your own Designer Paper. :)

Be sure to visit the Kitchen Sink Crew today and see what they have cooked up for you today.

Lisa-Gift-Card-HolderB&W-Lisa-flower-with-nameGetting ready for gift giving?

If you like giving gift cards or the gift of a brand new year by giving hand made/altered calendars …. you will not want to miss October’s Project of the Month. This month’s project was cooked up by Kitchen Sink Crew Member, Lisa Somerville. Lisa found these fun clear, plastic cases (which can be now be found in the KSS store), and quickly came up with two great gift ideas using these cases. There are two sizes to choose from: Business Card size & 4″x6″ Photo size.

The ladies who attended KSS’s workshop in Georgia this past September, got a sneak peek of Lisa’s gift card holder project and got a chance to make their own using the business card size clear case.

Using the 4″x6″ photo size case, Lisa has come with a wonderful calendar that is sure to make the coming year brighten up anyone’s desk! :) Here is one of the calendar samples that Lisa has created. How fun is this!?! … and the case can open up and stand upright.

Lisa-Calendar-HolderYou’ll want to see Lisa’s complete tutorials for both a Gift Card Holder and Clear Calendar Case for all the details. Lisa also has a downloadable 2010 calendar for you too!

Thanks Lisa for two fabulous projects… I can hardly wait to get a jump on getting ready for Holiday gift giving… and making! :)

Something wicked this way comes …

B&W-Angela-spotlight-flower… a wickedly fun challenge that is!!!!
It is time for a new KS Crew Challenge and our KS Crew Hostess this month is, Angela !

Angela has cooked up a challenge where we not only get to push our creativity… but we get to count too!

Angela’s KS Crew Challenge #18 - Easy as 1, 2, 3: Use only 1 Pop Dot, 2 Embellishments (of your choice), and 3 different stamped images.
You can use as many layers as you’d like, but please don’t use more than the items listed. Want to use ribbon? That counts as one embellishment, but…you can use as many different types of ribbon as you’d like. Make sense?
:)

Blue-MoonI first stamped the moon (that’s 1 image). Then stamped the tree on top of the moon (that’s the 2nd image), followed by the leaves (that’s 3). I then did all my sponging of the ground and sky before I cut out the moon to pop it up with the 1 pop-up dot. My two embellishments… brads – #1 & ribbon #2. This was a fun challenge… sort of like counting Weight Water’s points… only with paper crafts! LOL! Thank you Angela for this super fun challenge. You really took my “COUNTING” to a whole ‘nuther level! :)

For samples to jump start your mojo, check out what the KS Crew has cooked up for you.
