Happy Labor Day!!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful, “un-official” last day of summer.

Many students have already gone back to school …. but not so in Los Angeles! This Wed. will be our first day back to school! … “the most wonderful time of the year!” … that Staples commercial cracks me up! :)

That commercial makes KS Crew Member, Makiko, giggle too…. who is our hostess for Sept.’s KS Crew Challenge. Makiko’s challenge sure is appropriate for me this week!

Makiko’s KS Crew challenge #17 is: Back to School Challenge….. Use school supplies or items to make a card or project! Or you can alter the items too. Extra apple points for a school themed project :)

Well-done-with-CrayonAs I sift through my son’s brand new school supplies (hoping I would not get caught!!! – LOL!) … I came across grid notebook paper, 4×5 index cards and crayons … and this is what I came up with for Makiko’s KS Challenge #17.

I used Memento Inkers (Dandelion, Lady Bug and Sky Blue) for random drops of color on some card stock and then blotted the card stock with the grid note book paper. After punching Spiral holes on one side of the 4×5 index card, I used Red Magic and Night Sky inks (both VersaMagic) to distress the card. The apple was also stamped on a 4×5 index card, cut out and adhered with some pop up dots.

This sure was a fun, fun challenge… I have a whole new out look on “school supplies”!!! :)

Join in the KS Crew Challenge fun by using Kitchen Sink Stamps and some sort of school supply in your card or project, will qualify you for one of 3 prizes! Winners will be picked by a random number generator … so, everyone has a chance to win! Be sure to post your project using Mr. Linky at the bottom on the KSS Weblog. When uploading your KSS’s entry to you favorite gallery, please use KSCC#17, kitchensinkstamps or KSS as the keyword or tag.

All the info for KSCC#17 can be found HERE.

Deadline to Makiko’s challenge is Friday eve. – Sept. 25th, (midnight EDT) which is also KSS’s 2 year Anniversary …YaHOOOO!!! (more fun Anniversary stuff to come soon)!!!!!!!!

Please take a peek at what the rest of the KS Crew has created today to inspire you… you are going to love what they’ve cooked up this week!
