Remembering: Mother & Daughter Part One

Here is another entry in my Family Tree photo album …. along with the SOA – KSS Challenge: Remembering.

This is a photo of my Grand Mother holding my Mother. I am amazed by this photo and how much my Grand Mother looks like my Mother did as an adult. I remember that my Grandmother loved the color pink & sweets! She always had warm fresh cookies or a “just baked” pie … still cooling, as we came barreling through my Grand Parents’ door when we came to visit every Sunday afternoon. It is with my Grand Mother and Mother, on those Sunday afternoons, where I first started crafting, sewing, etc. Very good memories! :D

I did this scrapbook page of my Grandmother for Jen Tapler’s – Template #2 challenge, over at Stamping Out Alzheimer’s.

It is hard to believe that there are only 4 days left to this fabulous event!!!! This page is also another sample for the KSS Challenge: Remembering. The winner of this challenge will win a KSS “mystery prize”, value over $75!!!! You can’t win, if you don’t play! :D

Hydrangea---Ann

[late addition] This is a photo of my Father’s Mother. She was an amazing lady. A woman’s libber before it even had a name! LOL! She also was a dancer for the stage and in Hollywood back during the silent era. She danced in Cecil B. DeMille 1923 – The Ten Commandments. In this photo, she is wearing a custom for a stage show. She and my Grand Father, (He is the gentleman in uniform in the double spread right before this post), met in the “Theater”. He painted back drops and scenery for the stage and later did a few films, “Heidi” is one film that may sound familiar.  My Grandparents were not famous, just one of  the performers & artists in the background or behind the scenes… and they loved every minute of it! :D

A Tropical Monday

It is a tropical Monday in the Kitchen today! ;)

Grab your sunscreen and flip flops … and get ready for summer!

Hibiscus-t-shirt-close-up

I have been working on this project for awhile and I am finally getting a chance to share it today. It was inspired by a style of t-shirt I remember from my youth… back in (cough, cough). This t-shirt had a single band of hibiscus flowers running cross the chest and wrapping around the back for a complete circle. It was Totally Cool!!!

This is my version of a Hawaiian hibiscus t-shirt that I grew up wearing.

Another KSS Monday

Happy Monday, Happy KSS Monday!

If you celebrated Mother’s Day yesterday, I hope you had a fabulous day! :D

I needed a masculine birthday card and this is what I came up with. I really like the clean look of the emboss/deboss from nestabilites when doing a single layer card. 3-candle-wish
